Do you think Nacho Hippo is the hippest cantina in Myrtle Beach? A unique restaurant not quite Mexican but not quite Tex-Mex, we’re known for serving up piles of nachos paired with larger-than-life margaritas! Then you’ll go nuts over our sister restaurant – River City Cafe – a local Myrtle Beach burger joint who’s all about the burgers! Burgers and Tacos may sound like a weird combo but here’s a few reasons why you should check them out:

Atmosphere/Decor

Both Nacho Hippo and River City Cafe offer a family-friendly atmosphere where FUN is the key component. Nacho Hippo is painted with bright colors and is decorated in neon-colored decor with chalkboards and signage scribbled with funny, tongue in cheek phrases. At the Nacho Hippo in Market Common, you’ll even find a giant tile sun on the ceiling! River City also has unique decor – with license plates and vanity tags from all over decorating the walls. You’ll find random antique items hanging from ceilings and from the walls – and there’s even a giant giraffe head hanging on the wall at the River City in Surfside. While every day is a fiesta at Nacho Hippo, you can enjoy the laid-back vibe of River City where you can toss your worries (and peanut shells) to the floor.

Live Music

Both locations, Nacho Hippo Market Common and the Nacho Hippo North Myrtle Beach, offer live music. While you can occasionally find a local live band at the South End (Market Common), there’s almost always nightly live entertainment found on the wooden stage at the North End (North Myrtle Beach) – especially in the summertime. Live music definitely adds to the festive vibe! River City Shore Drive is located right next to Ocean Annie’s Beach Bar. During peak season, Ocean Annie’s features live music daily – so you can jam out while you dig into your juicy burger. Plus did we mention the view (River City Shore Drive is located oceanfront)!

Open Air Restaurants

Nacho Hippo and River City Cafe both offer an open air seating. Both Nacho Hippo locations have covered patios that offer some shade so you can enjoy taking your nachos and tacos outdoors. River City Cafe has seven locations – with a majority of them offering quite a view! River City Barefoot Landing is nestled in Barefoot Landing – has outdoor tables right on the waterfront of the Intracoastal Waterway. River City Shore Drive and River City Surfside are both located oceanfront so you can enjoy an ocean breeze with your meal. River City 73rd Ave is attached to Sand Dunes Resort and has a fun outdoor bar area with iron bicycle seat barstools. River City 21st Ave is the oldest location and is located in the heart of Myrtle Beach where you can enjoy an outdoor picnic at before strolling along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. River City Murrells Inlet is in the scenic historic district of Murrells Inlet, where you can enjoy the casual low country dining experience outside.

Cocktails

If you’re looking for a giant Mexicali margarita or $3 all day Bud Lite Limes, shots of Fireball or house margaritas – make a pit stop at Nacho Hippo. With a drink list as unique as our menu, we’re known for creative cocktails and freshly squeezed margaritas. We serve up a delicious cocktails – known as Hip Buckets – which are mixed and served in souvenir sand buckets. There’s ice cold margaritas found at River City called the River Rita along with other fun concoctions like the River City Bullfrog. There’s nothing like washing your burger or nachos down with an ice cold cocktail!

Award Winners

At Nacho Hippo we’re known for serving ‘Best of the Beach’ margaritas and nachos. Our sister restaurant, River City Cafe, has also acquired a few awards including consistently winning ‘Best of the Beach’ burgers.

If you’re craving a burger while in Myrtle Beach, we recommend making a pit stop at River City Cafe, a local burger joint serving up mouthwatering burgers!
